Austrian DDSG tug Kronstadt active on the Danube according to a CIA report dated 18 November 1954

An item reported the arrival on 19 June 1954 of the Soviet DDSG (Sowjetische Donau Dampf Schiffahrts Gesellschaft m.b.H.) tug Kronstadt at Kormarno, Czechoslovakia coming from Izmail, USSR while towing 3 empty tankers and 4 barges loaded with respectively 845, 600, 560 and 540 tons of Pyrites (Russian iron ore). On 20th June arrived she at Vienna, Austria with the tankers leaving the barges behind at Komarno. On 23rd June she left towing 3 paraffin loaded tankers bound for Reni, USSR. At Komarno were two bauxite loaded barges picked up and empty cargo barges bound for Izmail, USSR to be there to be loaded with Pyrites (Russian iron ore).(1)
