British frigate HMS Salisbury (F 32) 1952-1985

Part of the Salisbury or Type 61 aircraft direction class frigates. Laid down at the Devonport Dockyard on 23 January 1952, launched on 25 June 1953, completed on 27 February 1957 and sunk while used as a  target on 30 September 1985.

General technical class specifications. Displacement2.170 (standard)-2.400 (full load) tons and as dimensions 100 (over all) x 12 x 4,72 metres or 340 x 40 x 15.6 feet. Machinery consisted of 8 ASR1 diesels supplying via 2 shafts 12.400shop allowing speed of 24 knots and with a speed of 16 knots a range of 7500 nautical miles.
