British battleship HMS Marlborough executed successfully her trials according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1914 No. 4


An item reported that the British battleship HMS Marlborough executed on 6 and March 1914 her trials with satisfaction. During the 30 hours trial was with 2/3% horsepower 20.875 hp achieved and the trial was finished with a speed of 19 knots.(1)

1. Of the Iron Duke-class consisting of the Iron Duke, Marlborough, Benbow and Emperor of India. Preceded by the King George V-class and succeeded by the Queen Elizabeth-class. Laid down at the Devonport Dockyard on 25 January 1912, launched on 24 October 1912, completed and commissioned in June 1914, removed from active service in 1929, for disposal since May 1932, sold to the Alloa Shipbreaking Company to be broken up in 1932 and arrived for this purpose at Rosyth, Scotland on 25 June 1932.
