An item reported the fenced and road served Soviet Astrakhan shipyard Ostrov Zaichey with as geographic coordinates 46.19.00 north and 46.57,50 east located 3 nautical miles south west of the centre of Astrakhan on the west side of Ostrov Zaichey used for building inland vessels. The shipyard possessed 1 side-haul marine railway, 3 transverse slipways for newbuilding and repairs, 5 cranes, 1 fitting out pier and 1 fabrication and 3 support buildings.
