British sloop HMS Cadmus visited the Dutch East Indies in 1907

An item reported that the British cruiser HMS Cadmus (1) visited Ternate, Dutch East Indies on 16 April 1907.(2)

Notes
1. Of the Cadmus-class sloops, preceded by the Condor-class, succeeded by Flower-class, laid down at the Sheerness Dockyard, England on 11 March 1902, launched on 29 April 1903, commissioned in 1904 for service in the Far East where she served her whole career until she was sold at Hong Kong on 1 September 1921.
2. The Dutch newspaper Soerabaijasch handelsblad dated 11 May 1907 announced a football game tomorrow afternoon between the crews of the British HMS Cadmus and the Dutch Hr.Ms. De Ruyter on the new field of Thor near the old range. The Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 19 June 1907 conformed her arrival on 16th April coming from Manila, Philippines and her departure on the 18th towards Ambon. Another Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 8 July 1907 reported her arrival in the harbour of Stagen on 15th May and her departure in the night of 16th-17t May.
