Gang way board Dutch coastal defence ship Zr.Ms. Piet Hein 1893-1914

Board designed by Victor Eugène Louis de Stuers depicting a small bird (called pietje in Dutch) sitting on a small gate (called heintje in Dutch). Part of the Evertsen-class consisting of the Evertsen, Piet Hein and Kortenaer. Laid down at the shipyard of the Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij, Rotterdam in 1893, launched on 16 August 1894, commissioned on 3 January 1896, condemned in 1914, intended sale on 18 August 1914 postponed until Tuesday 20th October at 11.30 o’clock and then sold for ƒ 90.000 to Wilton’s Scheepswerf, Rotterdam, Netherland.
