The harbour of Somovit, Bulgaria according to a CIA report dated 16 December 1954

An item dealing with the harbours along the river Danube reported that the harbour of Somovit, Bulgaria was quite large and just smaller as the harbours of Ruse and Lom. It possessed over two large storehouses and furthermore 2 electric rotors for handling cargoes consisting of cement and ores to Russia, Hungary and Czechoslovakia, pulp to Russia and tobacco to Czechoslovakia.
