Canadian frigate HMCS St. John‘s (FHH 340) 1994-

Canada-flagged MMSI 316196000 and call sign CGAKOf the Halifax-class based on the Canadian Patrol Frigate Project. Laid down by Saint John Shipbuilding Ltd., Saint John, Canada on 24 August 1944, launched on 26 August 1995, commissioned on 24 June 1996. Displacement 3.995 (light)-4.795 (operational)-5.032 (deep load) tons and as dimensions 134,2 x 16,5 x 7,1 metres or 440.3 x 54.1 x 23.3 feet. The machinery consists of 2 LM2500 gas turbines and 1 SEMT Pielstick diesel engine allowing a speed of 30 knots and a range of 9.500 nautical miles. Crew numbers 254 men including a detachment for maintenance and operating the CH-124 Sea King for which flight deck and hangar are available. The armament consists of 1-57cm Bofors MkII gun, 1-2cm Vulcan Phalanx CIWS, 6-1,27 cm/0.50” machineguns, 24 Honeywell Mk 46 torpedoes, 16 Evolved Sea Sparrow SAM and 8 RGM-84 Harpoon SSM.
