French privateer Duc de Chaulnes 1694-1696

Privateer of Saint Malo, captured as British HMS Scarbourough in 1694, recaptured by British and renamed HMS Milford in 1696.(1)

1. J.J. Colledge. Ships of the Royal Navy. An Historical Index, 2 vols. David&Charles, Newton Abbot, 1969 however states that she was built as the 5th rate Scarbouough at at Woolwich dockyard, England in 1694, captured the same year by the French, recaptured in 1696 as the Duc de Chaulnes and renamed Milford, rebuilt in 1705 and wrecked in 1720. Dimensions 105 x 29 feet, a builders measurement if 374 (original)-421 (after 1705) tons and an armament of 32 guns.
