Docking and building facilities of the shipyards at Galati, Romania according to a CIA report dated 26 June 1952

An item referred to an anonymous informant who reported that the shipyard at Galati, Romania operated by Sovromtransport were situated in de new basin or Badalan sector on a distance of around 2.5-3 miles from the Sovrom Administration headquarters. The shipyard possessed at least 2 graving docks and 2 building slipways, located next to the basin. Furthermore sighted the informant 2 floating dry docks berthed in the basin able to dock ships larger as 1.000 tons and there where warehouses available.
