Lighters by Romanian shipyards converted into salvage vessels according to a CIA report dated 12 October 1951

An item reported that respectively the  Georghi Dimitorv shipyard and the Cooprativa Marina, both at Braila, Romania were rebuilding the lighters N.F.R. respectively S.R. into salvage vessels. After the changing of the hull plating at Braila were both vessels transported to Turnu Severin where each was fitted out with 4 cranes. Their expected lifting capacity were vessels with a minimum displacement of 500 tons. Both vessels were to be available somewhere in 1952.
