The origin of the officers in the Polish navy according to a CIA report dated 4 May 1953

An item reported that the commander in chief of the Polish navy was not a Polish officer but a Russian namely rear admiral Czyrokov. Also the officers in all key positions were Russians. Polish officers just on the lowers positions. The group of Polish officers consisted of two types, former petty-officers serving in the Polish navy before the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939 promoted to the rank of officer and secondly sea trained officers of Zymiski’s Army and graduates from the Polish officers naval academy. This academy trained/educated candidates for the executive and technical branches. After graduation some of them received special training in the Soviet Union.
