German screw steam salvage vessel Retter 1885-1925
Launched by Joh.C. Tecklenborg, Geestemünde, Germany with yard number 59 pn 12 February 1885 and handed over to the Norddeutschen Lloyd, Bremerhaven, Germany on 28 March 1885, on 2 August 1914 commissioned in the German Imperial Navy als auxiliary vessel, since 1 March 1915 used as tender. Returned to her original owner after the First World War, decommissioned in 1924 and sold on 13 October 1924 to M. Stern A.G., Bremen, which was executed the same year. With a gross register tonnage of 361 ton and as dimensions 46,50 x 7,61 x 4,60 metres. The 1-2 cylinder 750ihp engine was manufactured by Machinefabrik Buckau. Her crew numbered 12 men. She was also used as tender/passenger ship.
