Japanese salvage tug Yumihara 1944-1945 (Yumihara Maru 1945-1958, Rangkwien 1958-1979)


Of the Miura-class consisting of the Miura, Yumihara and Hanashima. Displacement 800 (standard)-880 (trial) tons and as dimensions 49,00 (betweeen perpendiculars) x 9,50 x 5,12 (depth) metres or 162.3 x 31.2. x 16.7 feet. The 2 reciprocating machinery supplied 2.200 ihp allowing a speed of 12 knots. Gross tonnage 585 tons, under deck 431 tons and net tonnage 215 tons. Laid down by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Shimoneseki Shipyard on 15 July 1944, launched on16 December 1944,delivered on 12 March 1945, decommissioned on 30 November 1945, handed over to Toyo Salvage K.K. and renamed Yumihara Maru in 1945, sold to the Kawanami Kogyo Corporation, Nagasaki, Japan in 1946, official no. 59482, call sign JMQK. sold towards the Thai navy and renamed Rangkwien or Rang Kwien in 1958 and decommissioned on 30 April 1979. In the Thai navy used as mine counter measures support ship (MCS 11).
