Italian navy requisitioning merchant ships according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad No. 4 dated April 1940
An item referred to the Le Yacht dated February 1940 reporting that the Italian navy requisitioned 116 merchant motor vessels of which 31 were to be used as escort vessels, the remaining as minesweepers and mine layers.
