British warship seized Danish Greenland whaler according to the Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haaremse courant dated 27 August 1803

An item reported that the British seized a Danish Greenland whaler which unloaded her cargo at Tonningen [Tönning, Germany] and now empty underway was to the Elbe, Germany. The Dutch newspaper Binnenlandsche Bataafsche courant dated 1 September was forced to anchor near the warship off The Roode ton (buoy ) but escaped thanks to the worse weather on the 21 August. A price master and 4 sailors recaptured her and brought her back. Another Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haarlemsche courant dated 10 September referred to a letter dated Hamburg, Germany 2 September reporting that the British cutter went to dated Tonningen [Tönning, Germany] to seize the escaped Greenland whaler. She was guarded by 20 military on board berthed at Friederichstadt, Germany.
