Catch results of the German and Norwegian Greenland seal hunters according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamse courant dated 16 July 1771

An item reported the arrival at Bergen of D. Schmidt 114 quardelen seal blubber returning from Greenland and who stated that commandeur Stammer had 60 and Moller 80 quardelen seal blubber, both had also Bergen as homeport. Of the seal hunters from Hamburg, Germany had Hans Pieters 100, M. Swem 60, Th. Swem 46, P. Swem 22, P. Michielsen 20, H.H. Tonnies 4 quardelen and the others nothing. In May had been a lot of north east winds. Of the whalers was nothing known. A British Greenland whaler seemed to be lost with the entire crew.
