Catch results of German Greenland seal hunters and whalers according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamse courant dated 26 July 1763

An item dated Hamburg, Germany 22 July reported the arrival on the Elbe or at Hamburg of Corn. Thomsem 123, P. Theunis 104, H.H. Tonnies 100, M. Michels 81 and A. Swen 80 quardelen. P. Swen 70, C.A. Wit 57, H.M. Jaspers 55, C. Karstens 41, H. Sunderberg 34, J. Swen 30, L. Hansen 16 quardelen seal blubber, Tj. Theunis 11 whales 186 quardelen, J. Rycks 9 whales 180 quardelen, P. Cornelis 6 whales 160 quardelen and R. Jansen 5 whales 180 quardelen all returning from Greenland. They stated that the commandeurs R. Pieters, S. Jansen and P. Dirks each caught one whale, G. Gerrits, G. Gults and Corn. Riewerts caught nothing and that the ship of commandeur Nanning Willems was wrecked in Greenland.
