German Greenland seal hunters and their catch results according to the Dutch newspaper Leydse courant dated 16 July 1759

An item reported the arrival at Hamburg, Germany of Simon Schroder with 90 quardelen seal blubber returning from Greenland. He left on 20 June from the position 74-75 degrees above Jan Mayen Land and had a list of the seal hunters and their catch results. Frrom Hamburg Cornelis Carstens 70, Japser Jaspers 100, Mich. Janssen 100, Hans Eriks 80, Pieter Teunis 140, Teun. Pieters 80, Carsten Andries Wit 103, Hans Hansen Tonjes 100, Cornelis Thomsen 110, Mich. Hansen 140, Johan Nicol. Steinmetz 110, Andreas Swen 82 and Chr. Hasselman 70 barrels seal blubber, of Gluckstadt John Schröder 110, Michiel Kroger 70 barrels seal blubber and Jur. Juriaans de Jonge of Hoorn 80 barrels. Of the whalers he could not add more information then he saw some mid May when arriving in the ice.
