Laid down by Verolme Dockyard, Cork, Irelands on 15 December 1982, launched on 19 December 1983 and commissioned on 7 December 1984. Pennant P31, call sign EIYS, IMO 8208141 and MMSI 240099000. Full load displacement 1.920 tons and as dimensions 84,8 (over all) x 12 x 4,3 metres or 278 x 39 x 14 feet. Speed 37 knots. Crew numbers 86 persons including 9 officers. Armament consists of 1-5,7cm Bofors guns, 2-2cm Rheinmetall cannon and 7,72mm machine guns. Fitted out with a helicopter flight deck.
