Polish corvette ORP Kaszub (240) 1984-







Laid down by Stocznia Polnocna, Gdansk on 9 June 1984, launched on 11 May 1986, commissioned on 15 March 1987 and between 1190 and January 1991 added tot he Border Guard. Of the Project 620 class. Poland-flagged, MMSI 261227000 and call sign SNWC. Displacement 1,068 (standard)-1,202 (full loaded) and as dimensions 82.34 x 10 x 3.1 (hull)- 4.9 (sonar dome) metres or 270.2 x 32.10 x 10.2-16.1 feet. The 4 Cegieski-Sulzer AS 16V 25/30 diesels supplying totally 16,600 shp via 2 shafts allowing a speed of 27 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles/14 knots. Crew numbers 67 men. Armament consists of 1-76m/3.0 AK-176 gun, 1-35mm AM-35 Tryton cannon, 2x2-ZU-23-2M Wrobel 23mm cannon, 209K32M Strela 2M surface-to-air missiles, 2-RBU-6000 anti submarine rocket launchers and 2x2-53.3cm/21” torpedo tubes.
