Japanese submarine depot ship Komahashi 1914-1945

Built under the 1911 Fiscal Year, laid down by Sassebo Navy Yard, Japan on 7 October 1912, launched on 21 May 1913, completed on 20 January 1914, cargo ship since 7 October 1912, submarine depot ship since 23 May 1914, 2nd coast defence ship since 16 August 1914, torpedo recovery ship since 1 April 1920, submarine tender since 1 December 1924, survey vessel since November 1932, kaibokan escort vessel and explosive motor boat tender, sunk in an American air attack on Owase, Japan on 28 July 1945 and decommissioned on 30 November 1945. Displacement 1,143 (standard)-1,250 (standing) tons and as dimensions 64,01 x 10,67 x 3,55 metres or 210 x 35 x 11.8 feet. Propulsion consisted of 3 expansion reciprocating steam engines and 4 boilers supplying via 2 shafts 1,824 shp allowing a speed of 13.9 knots. Her final armament consisted in 1945 of 1-8cm cal 40 3rd Year Type naval gun, 10-2,5cm Type 95 anti aircraft guns, 2-1,3cm Type 93 anti aircraft guns, 2 Type 92 heavy machine guns and depth charges.
