Belgian Boelwerf 700 tons corvette design around 1981

After the Boelwerf, Temse, Belgium built between 1974-1978 two of the 2,200 tons Wielingen-class frigates, preceded by Algerine-class, succeeded by Karel Doorman-class the shipyard designed a 700 tons corvette. Dimensions 58.00 (between perpendiculars)-62.00 (over all) x 10.50 (trusses) x 5.00 (height below maindeck)-7.50 (below upper deck) x 2.80 (in service) metres with a service displacement of around 900 tons/ Crew numbered 69 men. Propulsion consisted of 4-310 KW MTU 20 538 TB 92 diesels with 4 shafts/4 screws allowing a speed of 31 (wind force 2)-33 (maximum during 30 minutes_ knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles/16 knots. Armament consisted of 2x2 MM 38/40 Exocet or Otomat SMM missile launchers, 1-7.6cm OTO Melara quick firing gun (200 shots) and 1x2-2cm Breda machine guns (2x444 shots).
