Insufficient docking and repair facilities at Calcutta, India huge problem according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 6 March 1942

An item reported that at Calcutta, British India [India] ships were waiting to be repaired or unloaded. The ships were confronted with 2-14 days delay due to lacking sufficient docking facilities and labor. The J.I.C. commented that the situation was far from ideal regarded the shipping shortage among vessels of the United Nations.
