An item reported that the transport Hermod was launched by the Royal Navy Dockyard, Copenhagen, Denmark on 29 October. Had a capacity of around 2,500 tons.(1)

1. Screw steamship, other sources claiming 11 October 1921 launched, decommissioned and sold in 1927 and sunk in the North Sea on 3 October 1927. Displacement 3,957 tons and as dimensions 80.0 x 11.5 x 5.48 metres. Crew numbered 21 men. Horsepower 700hp. The Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 5 Otober 1927 reported that she was underway from Helsingborg towards Cardiff and lost with all lives (25 men). Wreckage was found on the Danish shore. On Monday 3 October she signalled on position 56.45 North and 7.55 East when she was harassed by a heavy storm but needed none assistance despite there were ships nearby. Her hatches were broken. Tuesday evening was reported from Thorsminde, Jutland about the wreckage. The De Maasbode reported that she was built in 1922, gross tonnage 1,949 tons, net tonnage 875 tons. She left loaded with iron Helsingborg, Sweden on Friday 30 September.
