An item reported that the British light cruiser HMS Caradoc (1) was bound for Egypt in the first week of Appril to relieve the British light cruiser HMS Ceres (2) which was to return to Malta.

Notes

1. C-class light cruiser Caledon sub-class, preceded by Arethusa-class, succeeded by Danae-class, laid down by Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Greenock, Scotland on 21 February 1916, launched on 23 December 1916, commissioned on 15 June 1917, accommodation ship since April 1944, decommissioned in December 1945 and sold to be broken up on 5 April 1946.

2. C-class light cruiser Ceres sub-classs, preceded by Arethusa-class, succeeded by Danae-class. Laid down by John Brown&Company, Clydebank, Scotland on 26 April 1916, launched on 24 March 1917, commissioned on 1 June 1917, accommodation/base ship at Portsmouth by October 1945 and broken up in July 1946.
