Arrival of the Dutch frigate Zr. Ms. De Zaan at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 21 April 1837

The Hague, 20 April. According to a letter from captain A. de Monyé commanding the Dutch frigate Zr. Ms. De Zaan (1) dated 2 February arrived he 1 February at Rio de Janeiro. He had left Den Helder 24 December 1836.

1. Frigate 2nd class, laid down at the navy yard of Amsterdam by P. Schuijt jr. 1825, launched Saturday 23 July 1831, served also in the Dutch East Indies, already in worse condition in 1842, sold -while lying in the dock on the navy yard at Willemsoord, Netherlands- in the tavern Nieuwe Heeren-Logement of the widow H.G. Ihnen, Nieuwdiep, Netherlands on for ƒ 16.600,00 to M. Rezel of Nieuwediep, to be broken up on Tuesday 10.00 o‘clock 19 November 1850, dimensions 46,21 (loadline) x 11,91 (inner hull) x 5,17 (fore)-5,74 (aft) x 6,41 (depth below main deck) metres, displacement 1.422-1.460 tons and an armament of 44 guns (30 short 30 pd guns, 20-30pd guns and 2-8pd guns).
