Dutch merchant ships at Smyrna according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 31 August 1844

Smyrna [nowaday Izmir, Turkey], 9 August. There were here none Dutch ships waiting for a cargo destined for the Netherlands. Tidings arrived that the Hanoverian galliot Johanna Brons of Amsterdam arrived at Syra while destined from Constantinople and from there to Smyrna. Her cargo mainly consisted of sugar. The Dutch galliot Koerier, master Poppens of Amsterdam and the kof Boreas, master van Gelderen of Vlaardingen were expected.
