British light cruiser HMS Coventry as 1936 and 1940 appearance

The former Corsair renamed in 1916. With a displacement of 4,190 tons and as main dimensions 450 (over all) x 43'9". She was laid down at Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson at Wallsend-on-Tyne 4  August 1916, launched on 6 July 1917 and sunk due to an air attack on 14 September 1942 by German JU-87 divebombers (Stuka's) in the Mediterranean. Her original armament consisted of 5-6" guns and 2-3" guns, when fitted out as an anti aircraft cruiser in 1935-1936  armed with 10-4" guns later were two guns removed.
