Laid down at the shipyard of the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij as the Kijkduin with yard number RDM-219 on 19 May 1939, building stopped during the Second World War despite German efforts to complete her in a modified design, building continued and renamed Eendracht in 1946, renamed De Ruyter in 1947, launched as De Zeven Provinciën on 22 August 1950, christened by the Dutch queen Juliana, commissioned on 17 December 1953, decommissioned on 16 October 1975, sold to Peru on 17 August 1976, refitting completed on 31 October 1977, commissioned on 24 February 1978, decommissioned on 21 March 1999 and broken up in 2000. In Peruvian service was her homeport Callao. Between 7 August 1986 and 15 February 1988 called Almirante Grau.
Displacement 9.725 (standard)-11.930 (full load) tons and as dimensions 187,3 x 17,25 x 5,64 metres. Horsepower 82.500 hp and a speed of 32 knots. Her crew numbered 973 men. Her armament consisted of 4x2-15,2cm guns, 8-5,7cm guns and 9-4cm guns.
