The former American Guppy III-clas submarine USS Corporal (SS 346). Laid down at the Electric Boat Company 27 April 1944, launched 10 June 1945 and commissioned 9 November 1945 and transferred to Turkey 21 November 1973. Displacement of 1.975 tons standard and 2.540 tons submerged and dimensions 326'5" x 27 x 19. Armed with 10-21" torpedo tubes of which 6 in the bow and 4 in the stern. Her crew numbered 86 men. The 4 diesels of 6.400 shp and the 3 electric motors of 5.400 shp made a speed of 20 knots surfaced and 15 knots submerged possible.
