She was laid down at the yard Gusto at Schiedam owned by Smulders, 1912, launched 1913, completed/commissioned 28 March 1915 and decommissioned 30 April or 19 May 1954. Displacement 1,252 tons and dimensions were 164 x 78 ¾ x 6 ¾ feet (Jane’s) and the double expansion engines and 2 cyl. Boilers delivered 720 ihp allowing a speed of 8 knots. Her lifting capacity was 110-185 tons (according to Jane‘s had the two cranes a lifting capacity of each 200 tons from a depth of 60 meter.

I have not been able to find much dealing with this vessel, but there is one interesting item published in the local Dutch newspaper Schiedamsche Courant in which city the vessel was build. In contrary to some sources said she was launched in 1912. The edition dated 20 December 1912 reported that the same day at the yard Gusto of the firm F. Smulders the steel built hull of a 400 tons crane was launched to be used for salvage of sunken submarines and built on account of a foreign government. The dimensions were 50 x 21 x 4.40 (hold) m. She was fitted out with 2 cranes, each able to lift weights up to 200 tons with enough space on the deck for placing the submarine. The crane was to be fitted out with 2 compound engines of each 300 hp and 2 vertical engines of each 150 hp. There were 2 boilers with a total heating surface of 200 square m with a pressure of 8 kilogram to be used for manoeuvring and the anchors en there were several winches. After completion the crane was to steam on own resources to her new destination.
