Argentinean armoured flush-decked cruiser Garibaldi 1895-1934

She was designed by Edoardo Masdea for the Italian firm owned by Gio. Ansaldo &Co at Genoa, Italy without getting an order in advance of whatever which navy. She was launched on 27 May 1895 and decommissioned on 20 March 1934. Her Argentinean sister ships were the Pueyrredón, San Martin and the General Belgrano while Italy, Spain and Japan also owned ships of this class. With a hull of steel. The armour consisted of a 3.1-5/9” belt while the conning tower, barbettes, gun turrets and secondary guns were protected by 5.9” armour and the gun shields by 1.9”. The crew numbered 500 men.
