The Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Sumatra according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 27 April 1829

The Dutch frigate Zr. Ms. Sumatra captain Lucas arrived 20 April at Flushing, Netherlands coming from Havana which harbour she left 24 March escorting through the Strait of Florida 3 Dutch, 1 British and 1 American merchant ships.(1) She departed Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 15 mat 1828 and visited since Cape Verde Islands and Canary Islands, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Rio Janeiro, Rio de la Plata, Curacao, Vera Cruz and Havana protecting the Dutch trade and shipping and promoting Dutch interests.

Glavimans at the naval yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands December 1816, launched 23 August 1820, renamed Sumatra by order 20 March 1828, dimensions 145 x 36’8”x 19’’ French feet, hit something and sunk immediately at Antwerp, Belgium 1830, 44 guns.
