The Egyptian, Greek, Swedish and Turkish fleets in the Mediterranean and the Russian fleet at Copenhagen according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 6 August 1827

Paris, 1 August. The rumours that the Greek fleet commanded by Lord Cochrane fought with the Turkish still didn’t existed, but couldn’t be confirmed. Just in a letter coming from Corfu referred to 25 June when Cochrane with 80 ships off Candia fought with the Egyptian squadron of 120 ships and defeated the latter in a battle of 48 hours. The Egyptian squadron had landing troops and a large amount of war stores on board. The Turkish squadron went back to Navarino.

Hamburg, 31 July. A large Russian fleet left Copenhagen 25 July and sailed North wards. There were rumours that also some Swedish warships were to be sent to the Mediterranean, although by Swedish letters denied.
