Marseille, 5 March. The brig [le Sauveur] bought by the Greek committee and armed with 20-18pdr carronades left St. Tropez 25 February. On board was Lord Cochrane with a well trained crew. If there had been more space on board than the crew was surely increased. The brig was accompanied by the schooner Unicorn. Everything went still well on board on 3 March. The frigate built for the Pasha of Egypt and which had been so long lying in the mud was finally fitted out. She was armed with 30 guns and her crew numbered 300-400 men. Despite all efforts she was still leaking, had a so-called cambering and reacted worse to the rudder. The departure towards Alexandria was intended 10 March. On stocks were still another frigate and a goelette, both for the Pasha of Egypt but there are negative rumours dealing with the Egyptian finances.
