Flushing, 19 August. In the afternoon of the 16th 14.00 o’clock was in presence of the Minister of Marine and Colonies, accompanied by his adjutant and director of naval affairs captain Lantsheer, vice admiral Gobius commanding officer of the District of the Schelde and other senior officials of the navy and thousands of spectators launched the Zeeuw with repeated cheers of the labourers. She was an 84-gun ship of the line the first of the new design with a round stern to be launched of the ones all ready on stocks and built by constructor Soetermeer.
