The American House of Representatives and the naval budget according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant evening edition dated 24 March 1920
Washington, 23 March. The House of Representatives refused a day earlier to approve an increase of the budget for the navy air force from 15,000,000to 25,000,000 dollars. For the increase of the fleet facilities at the Pacific coast was 4,000,000 dollars granted mostly destined for the base at San Diego. According to the bill accepted the cabinet the areas offered by the town of San Diego, was 250,000 dollar permitted to establish a submarine base at the mouth of the Columbia river, nearly 1,000,000 dollars for Pearl Harbour, 175,000 dollars for Mare Island, 320,000 dollars for Puget Sound and 80,000 dollars for ammunition depots at Pearl Harbour.
