British fleet base in Turkish harbour of Chesme according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad evening edition dated 14 July 1939

The correspondent of the Daily Herald at Istanbul reported that the Turkish authorities were fitting out the small harbour of Chesme near Smyrna as a fleet base for the British navy in case of war.
