Dutch paddle steamship 2nd class Zr.Ms. Cycloop 1840-1873

Laid down at the naval yard at Vlissingen, Netherlands on 23 July 1840, launched 13 June 1843 and condemned and stricken in 1873. With the dimensions 47,00 x 9,20 x 4,00 metres and a displacement of  875 tons. The armament consisted of 6-7 guns. The steam engine supplied 220 hp.

The Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 15 June 1843 published an item dated Flushing the 13th reporting that reard admiral Rijk, director general of the navy, was presence that dat during her launching sighted by a very large audience.

Built by A.E. Tromp. Dimensions 47 (between perpendiculars on last line) x 8,95 (inner hull) x 3,5 (middle) and 5,36 (hold besided midship section) under upper deck) and as displacement 875 Dutch tons. The armament consisted of 2 long 30pd guns, 2 medium 30pd guns and 10-1pd swivels in peacte time and in wartime 2 heavy 20" shell guns and 4 medium 30pd guns.
