The Dutch screw steamship 2nd class Marnix in her appereance as accomodation ship since 1886

The Marnix was built at the Naval Yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands, on stocks 1 May 1865 and launched 6 June 1867. Building costs wre ƒ 677.00, 55. Commissioned different dated 8 April or 1 July 1868. Dimensions 60,60 x 9,70 x 4,90m and with a deplacement of 1488 tons. Speed 10 knots, 280nhp and 770ehp. Crew existed of 130 men. She was armed with 2-15cm and 4-12cm guns.
She was decommissioned 16 February 186 and fitted out as accomodation ship for torpedists at Willemsoord after removal of engines and boilers. Commissioned 26 March 1886 and finally decommissioned 16 November 1908 when she was replaced by the Koningin Emma der Nederlanden. She was sold to be broken up at Willemsoord in 1910.
