French-Polish cooperation in the Baltic Sea according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland evening edition dated 23 October 1924

The Polish minister Sikorski (1) who recently visited Paris seemed to have been successful. Polen wished to alter the small harbour Pussig at the bay of Danzig into a naval base to defend against a Russian or German attack. France seemed to have agreed that the 400.000.000 francs lent to Polen were partly used for this purpose and the common hope was that Pussig became on short term of more importance as Danzig. According to the newspapers published in Paris was Pussig easily to defend with just some coastal batteries and submarines. Sikorski left Paris for Cherbourg to become more familiar with the naval base there and would also visit Toulon.
