German pilots and lightships off Cuxhaven serving despite the blockade according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche courant daily edition dated 14 April 1849

In the German newspapers was an item published dated Hamburg 10 April informing the merchant trade shipping that as a result of the blockade the pilot galliot was out of service but that the lightships for the time being not leave their stations and that off Cuxhaven would be posted for incoming ships needing pilots.(1)
