French naval strength according to the Dutch newspaper Ommelander Courant dated 16 October 1792

According to an item dated Paris 4 October reported Morge to the Convention that the French navy had 102 ships at sea consisting of 21 ships of the line, 30 frigates, 18 corvettes, 23 advice yachts and 10 fluyts, 34 other ships of the line were waiting for their armament, 19 ships of the line were to be investigated and 7 were on stocks of which 3 to be launched within short term. Of 41 frigates were 23 ready for immediately departure towards sea and 6 were at the yards.
