Portuguese ships coming from Bahia unable to drop their anchors off Lisbon according to the Dutch Middelburgsche Courant dated 26 April 1758

According to a tiding dated Lisbon, Portugal 24 March was the town in the morning of the 19th at again harassed by an earthquake while a fiercely hurricane was blowing smashing people all over the streets. The hurricane made it possible for five ships of the fleet coming from Bahia de todos los Sanctos to drop their anchors off Lisbon that day forcing them to return to open sea.
