Labourers set fire in the Navy Arsenal at Alexandria, Egypt 1836
Niles’ Weekly Register, 13 August 1836, p. 397: “The Swahian Mercury contains the following intelligence from Alexandria, dated April 25: The workmen at the arsenal of Alexandria have themselves set tire to the building, because their wages were not paid. Only one corvette fell a prey to the flumes, and the fire was soon got under.”
