The launching of the German corvette Amazone in 1843 according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 7 July 1843

According to an item was at Stettin with success the 14-gun corvette Amazone launched. She was the first warship of Prussia and the German Customs Union. She was built at the Carmesin shipyard, Grabow/Stettin and launched 24 June 1843. Danish officers, no longer in service, were responsible for her rigging. Sailarea of 876m2, armed with 12-18pdr and dimensions or circa 34 x 8m. Her crew existed of 6 officers and 139 men. She was shipwrecked due to a heavy storm in November 1861 in the North Sea with no survivors.
