Swedish fleet defeated Russian fleet on 9-10 July in the Gulf of Finland according to the Dutch newspaper Ommelander Courant dated 3 August 1790

Stockholm, 17 July. News arrived that the Swedish navy commanded by the king had defeated the Russian clipper-fleet on 9-10 July [This must be the battle in the Gulf of Finland outside Kotka]. Second in command of the Swedish fleet was Cronstädt. The Swedish lost two gun launches which exploded and a large vessel Udama Ingehar which was sunk due to a bomb and some gun yawls were lost. The duke of Sudermanland was stationed with 20 ships of line and some frigates off Sweeburg.

Taken prisoner were 110 officers and 2,000 petty officers and sailors.
