Danish gunboat Moen exploded according to the Dutch newspaper Tilburgsche Courant dated 3 October 1901

The Danish gunboat Moen which yesterday practiced with high explosive shells sunk due to an explosion.(1) There were none killed or wounded among the crewmembers while the entire crew for reasons of precaution went on board of another warship while the ignition was electrically.

1. The Möen was launched in 1875 at Copenhagen with a displacement of 410 tons and a length between perpendiculars 109 feet or 33,22 metres. The horsepower of 500 ihp allowed a speed of 9 knots. Her original armament consisted of 1-10” rifled muzzle-loading gun and 2 rifled muzzle-loading 20 pdrs.
