According to an item was Venezuela still afraid for a war with the Netherlands and a blockade of her harbours by the Dutch navy. In the meantime arrived a Dutch squadron off the coast. General Guzman Blanco sent the war steamship Bolivar or repairs to New York and the government bought the steamboats Pico and Maracaïbo.
